REVITALIZATION DISTRICT


Revitalization District 

The Ohio Division of Liquor Control approved the City of Olmsted Falls application for a Community Revitalization District in downtown Olmsted Falls. The Olmsted Falls Revitalization District allows seven D-5I permits to be issued within the boundaries of the district. 

The establishment of the Olmsted Falls Revitalization District builds upon the Olmsted Falls strategies over recent years to promote development and investment in the Historic downtown Olmsted Falls, including the creation of the Community Reinvestment Area Program. 

What is a Revitalization District?

1.  A Revitalization District is a tool empowered under Ohio Revised Code Section 4301.81 and established through the Ohio Division of Liquor Control. 

2. The objective of a Revitalization District is to promote the investment and development of new restaurants and other social/entertainment establishments. 

3. The District provides more D-5 liquor permits within designated district area. 

4. The District allows for one additional D-5I permit to be issued for each 5 acres of land (maximum of 15 additional permits).

The D-5I permit: 

1.  A holder of a D-5I permit may exercise the same privileges and observe the same hours of operation as the holder of a D-5 permit. 

2. A D-5I permit may be issued to owner/operator of a licensed retail food establishment/food service operation 

D-5I Permit Requirements: 

1.  The sale of food and meals must constitute 75% of its total gross annual receipts. 

2.  The premises is located within a designated Revitalization District (Revitalization District Map

3.  A D-5I permit cannot be transferred outside of the District. 

How to Apply for a D-5I Permit:
