Councilwoman Garrity has been married for 35 years to Rory Hurley, a Chemical Engineer and world traveler. She has been Guardian to Michael A. Brown for 7 years. She has been a resident for 16 years in Ward III and was one of the original families of the Falls Pointe subdivision.

She has been a registered nurse for 32 years, with a Master's Degree in Nursing, with a graduate level Certificate in Quality Assurance.
She graduated Honor Society Signma Theta Tau. She is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a fundraiser for the Berea Animal Rescue Group. She is currently working as a Clinical Instructor for Hondros College Nursing Program.
Ms. Garrity also serves on the Executive Board of the Northeast Ohio City Council Association (2014-2015).
